Heather Holt Podcast Host | Storytelling on Healing, Resilience & Life After Change

Inspiring stories told weekly to help change your perspective — and maybe even leave you smiling.

Lisa Tickel is a childhood trauma survivor who has transformed her experience of abuse into a life of healing, purpose, and advocacy. After spending years in survival mode, she made a conscious decision to pursue deep healing and break the cycle of trauma. Today, she is committed to helping other survivors of childhood abuse move from simply coping to truly healing.

Her work focuses on trauma recovery, emotional healing, and creating safe spaces for survivors to be seen, heard, and supported.

Lisa offers support in three primary ways:

Podcast – Healing & Growing, Hand in Hand

Lisa hosts Healing & Growing, Hand in Hand, a podcast created for survivors of childhood abuse and complex trauma. Through honest conversations and compassionate storytelling, she shares her own healing journey while inviting guests to share theirs.

The podcast is built on four pillars:

Sharing Stories – Survivors openly share their abuse and recovery experiences.
Expert Insights – Trauma-informed professionals provide tools, education, and practical resources.
Awareness – Guests address overlooked areas of abuse, including childhood sports and institutional harm.
Prevention – Experts discuss strategies to prevent abuse and reduce the long-term impact of trauma.

Women’s Childhood Abuse Healing Workshop

Lisa is the Founder and Co-Leader, alongside author and survivor advocate Dana S. Diaz, of the Women’s Childhood Abuse Healing Workshop. This 6-week online program offers a confidential and supportive space for women to begin or deepen their healing journey.

Small group settings are intentionally designed to foster safety, trust, and connection. Participants gain practical tools, emotional support, and encouragement as they navigate trauma recovery together.

Women’s Healing Community

In addition, Lisa founded the Women’s Healing Community, a membership space created for continued growth after the workshop. She co-leads the Community with Dana, offering ongoing support, trauma education, shared experiences, and meaningful connection.

The Community is also open to women who have not attended the Workshop but are seeking a safe and supportive environment for healing.

Outside of her professional work, Lisa treasures time with her blended family and grandchildren. She and her husband enjoy hiking and long walks with their two dogs, Ace and Blackjack. She also finds joy in cooking, gardening, and gathering with family and friends.
