About Trent Carter, APRN, FNP-BC, CARN-AP
Trent Carter is a nationally recognized nurse practitioner, addiction recovery leader, and founder dedicated to transforming community health in New Mexico. Originally from Boyd, Texas, Trent has spent his career helping individuals reclaim their lives through compassionate, evidence-based care.
- Early Career & Education
Trent’s passion for healthcare began early. By high school, he knew he wanted to serve others through nursing. He started his career as a critical care nurse, moving into advanced clinical roles before earning his master’s degree in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati’s top-ranked program, where he graduated with honors.
In addition to his master’s degree, Trent holds multiple advanced credentials:
- APRN — Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
- FNP-BC — Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certified
- CARN-AP — Certified Addictions Registered Nurse–Advanced Practice
These qualifications prepared him for his role as a full-time nurse practitioner dedicated to addiction treatment and community wellness.

After relocating to New Mexico with his family, Trent immediately saw a critical need: accessible, high-quality addiction recovery services for individuals struggling with substance abuse. Deeply moved by patient stories and the escalating opioid crisis, he set out to create a recovery-driven model that empowers patients to rebuild their lives.
