Who Am I Now?

Rebuilding Your Life After Multiple Losses

Lynn Banis, Season Four guest on Change Happened, Then What?

Who are you when the relationships that defined life are gone?

Lynn Banis built a career around leadership, human behavior, change and coaching. She raised three daughters, earned advanced degrees and helped people navigate difficult transitions. Then several profound losses arrived close together, dismantling familiar roles, routines and the future she expected.

Despite everything she knew professionally, grief brought Lynn to her knees. Rebuilding required more than understanding emotional pain. It meant discovering who she was now and creating a life that could hold meaning, community and connection again.

Before · The change · What came next

Before

Lynn’s life was full of family, music, education, leadership and international work. Her expertise in human behavior gave her tools for helping others, but could not prepare her completely for personal grief.

The change

Multiple losses arrived before Lynn had time to absorb the one before. While grieving, she managed practical responsibilities, sold her home and moved closer to family, staying busy until her body forced her to stop.

What came next

Lynn returned to her professional knowledge and began using it on herself. She developed work helping women rebuild identity after significant loss and became an advocate for community, purpose and support beyond the earliest stages of grief.

“You can do this, but you don’t have to do it alone.”
