The podcast

The audience is growing because the need is real. Listeners come to the show while navigating loss, illness, family upheaval, reinvention, recovery, and the uncertainty that follows profound change.

Rather than presenting traditional question-and-answer interviews, Heather shapes intimate conversations into carefully written human stories about identity, grief, trauma, resilience, humor, healing, and the lives people build after everything changes. The podcast has developed a dedicated international following around honest storytelling and the possibility of hope.

Season Four Becoming the Light

Launching October 6, 2026, Season Four returns to one complete documentary story each week, exploring who someone was before change, what happened when life shifted, and who they became afterward. Short Friday reflections called Smile Drops bring Heather closer to the listener through personal observations, humor, family life, and the small moments that help people keep going.

Heather Holt, creator and host of Change Happened, Then What?

About Heather Holt

Heather Holt is the creator, host, writer, editor, and producer of Change Happened, Then What? and the founder of Holt Hill Studios in central Vermont. A former entrepreneur, audio engineer, storyteller, wife, mother, and grandmother, Heather brings lived experience and careful listening to stories about the moments that divide life into before and after.

In 2021, Heather underwent a 12-hour surgery for a vestibular schwannoma, leaving her deaf in her right ear and with facial paralysis. She also carries the loss of her brother Michael, who died by suicide in 2003. Those experiences inform her compassionate approach without becoming the center of every guest’s story.

Heather creates documentaries that honor complexity, protect vulnerable guests, and leave room for both pain and humor. Her work is grounded in a belief that telling the truth about what happened can help another person feel less alone.
